Heading down our road
Neighbours beautiful tree
Taking full adavantage of a dry and mild October afternoon, I took the five minute walk down the hill to explore the sights and surrounds. I was serenaded by a chorus of Chickadees, Red Breasted Nuthatches and sparrows with a soloist Northen Flicker belting out his call. I could see the choir fluttering around amongst the tree branches but only one little sparrow stopped and posed for me.
At the entrance to the trail was a freshly posted sign cautioning users of a bear and her cub being in the area. I was hoping to catch a glimpse but was not so lucky. An older fella who was there with his granddaughter told us he had spotted the mother and her babe just moments earlier.
This just keeps us reminded that when you live in the country, you must share with the animals. We have coyotes and bears in our little cul-de-sac often and had our backyards visited by a cougar and I would not trade any of this for city life...not for a moment...I am a country girl! So let me share with you, my neighbourhood.
