Lucky Penny

Find a penny, pick it up and all day long, you'll have good luck

I arrived at Kim's just before 8AM as we were anxious to get an early start. As I walked behind the car, I spotted a penny on the ground so I picked it up. I told Kim of my find, showed her the penny then safely tucked it into my pocket. Our first stop of the day, the Serpentine Fen located not far from Kim's home.

Awaiting our arrival was this lovely Great Blue Heron  admirimg the scenery that surrounded him.

Next in line was this absolutely stunning American Bald Eagle high in the treetop

He got tired of posing for us and left.

As we crossed a small bridge  we observed a varity of water fowl such as American Coots, Mallards, Canada Geese, Mergansers both common and hooded and more American Wigeons then you could shake a stick at.

We had pretty much decided we had seen all we were going to at the fen so we headed back towards Kim's car. The heron that had greeted us was now gone but I stopped to watch this lone Double Creasted Cormorant glide peacefully through the water.

We were off to the days second stop...Blackie Spit

.....................stayed tuned......................
